Today I went and took my Zoom H2, put it on a little tripod and just placed it on a tree trunk in a little nearby wood.
I was trying to get a relatively rounded ambient recording but a few crows quickly foiled that plan of mine … oh well.
The recording turned out to be quite noisy. Only part of that is the actual noise from the wind in the trees etc., the rest is probably due to the relatively bad built-in microphone. No processing except normalizing and cutting away a few seconds from beginning and end.

The recording was done near Osnabrück, Germany.
I was planning to use this for a game I am co-developing, but it came out too noisy for my taste. So... high chance I'm gonna upload some more in the near future, too. :)
